While we are privileged every day to see the amazing ways in which our horse heroes and talented therapists help children, we wanted to share with you a fascinating video that further illustrates how effective hippotherapy can be for children with special needs. Washington University, in conjunction with “Ride On St. Louis,” set out to discover whether they could scientifically demonstrate and document the effects of hippotherapy on children with cerebral palsy. The results were extraordinary! The study found that hippotherapy improved both head and trunk stability and upper extremity function in children with spastic diplegia cerebral palsy.
